Thank you for your participation and support as we celebrated our 20th year anniversary of serving the community. Hundreds of cancer supporters and survivors will gather for the Loving Souls and Sweetheart XX - Real Men Do Wear Pink Fashion Extravaganza and Educational Conference". We gathered at the Best Western Premier the Central Hotel and Conference Center, 800 East Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17111 for our special event. Our first “Real Men Do Wear Pink Fashion Extravaganza” which was be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 6:30pm. Our Loving Souls and Sweethearts Conference and Awards and Luncheon along with a trade show held on Saturday, February 6th beginning at 8:00am. This was an excellent opportunity to display your products and services to this influential group as a sponsor or as an exhibitor or both. . CATALYST's mission and goal is to improve the cancer survival rates of ethnic and minority persons in central Pennsylvania and statewide. The initial focus has been on breast, cervical and prostate cancer however we promote the benefits of early detection and education by using culturally sensitive approaches for all cancers and cancer issues. The mission is accomplished by presenting education programs, workshops and seminars, distributing cancer awareness materials at events, networking with healthcare providers and community organizations, promoting media campaigns, assisting with screening opportunities in conjunction with providers, uniting persons and organizations to address the unique health issues of minority populations, and fostering the CATALYST Cancer Survivors Support Group. During the fashion show, two awards will be presented to Community Servants. The Barbara Davenport Loving Souls Community Service Award will be presented to community servants who demonstrate outstanding commitment to improving the health and education of the community. The Loving Sweethearts Award will be presented to a couple in recognition of their courageous fight cancer together.
We featured cancer survivors, national and local celebrities, individuals from the medical community, as well as teens as our models for the event. Saturday, February 6, we will present our annual Loving Souls and Sweethearts Cancer Educational Conference and Luncheon along with our CATALYST Awards and Luncheon. We will present the President's Award and the Claude E. Nichols, Jr. Medical Award at the luncheon. Professionals provided vital health education information through additional sessions, as well as opportunities for both networking and promoting your company/organization. Since 1996, we have educated thousands of individuals through these educational seminars.
