
Barbara E. Jackson, RN
Barbara E. Jackson, RN currently serves as President
and Founder of the Central Pennsylvania Coalition United to Fight
Cancer, CATALYST.
Mrs. Jackson received her nursing credentials from
The Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing, Sharon, Pennsylvania
and is a Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania, South Carolina,
California, and Rhode Island.
For the past 27 years, she has served and continues
to serve in many volunteer capacities in church and community settings.
Mrs. Jackson currently serves as a Board Member of
the Capital Area Unit American Cancer Society and President of the
Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church Deaconess Ministry. She served as
a volunteer at the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging for over ten
years and as a volunteer, coordinated “Senior Independence Day.” This program was recognized nationally and received an award for the
Agency under the Director, Mr. Lou Crippen.
She has received the following awards: Runner-Up
for the Nurse of Hope Program; the American Cancer Society Volunteer
Leadership Award; the Department of Health Award for Excellence; Special
Recognition Resolution from the Office of City Council Harrisburg,
PA for Community Service; Community Contest Winner in the "Sisters:
Take Charge of Your Health" program sponsored by Highmark Blue
Cross and Blue Shield; and a recognition award by the PA Chapter of
the American Academy of Pediatrics, Early Childhood Education Linkage
System program.
She is married to Deacon George W. Jackson and together
they have five children, Yahne, Tia, Cortney, Tiffany and Brooke;
one son-in-law, Shannon Winfield, and 7 grandchildren.
