          ABOUT US

          Mission Statement
The mission of CATALYST is to improve the cancer survival rates of ethnic and minority persons in central Pennsylvania and statewide. The initial focus has been on breast, cervical and prostate cancer. We promote the benefits of early detection by using culturally sensitive approaches.

          The mission is accomplished by:
          • Presenting education programs, workshops and seminars within the community.
          • Distributing cancer awareness materials at multicultural community events.
          • Networking with healthcare providers and community organizations.
          • Promoting media campaigns.
          • Assisting with screening opportunities in conjunction with providers.
          • Uniting persons and organizations to address the unique health issues of minority populations.
          • Fostering the CATALYST Cancer Survivors Support Group.
